On December 19, 2009, CNGM Pictures threw its 3rd annual fundraiser party at the Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center in Palatine.  All-in-all, the event was a wonderful success, raising funds for several projects to be distributed to festivals, completed or pushed forward into pre-production!

In the event’s first act, audiences got a chance to check out sneak peeks to CNGM’s recently completed feature film, Coasting as well as Off-Loop: Hitting the Wall (the short film prequel to the 2009 feature, Off-Loop). Octavarius got the audience warmed up right before Dennis Florine hit the stage, performing songs off his new EP, Scratching at the Surface Now.  Leading into to the much anticipated Coasting sneak peek, Josh Rosen played a set along with the film’s original score composer, Geoff Shell.  Rosen played three songs, including T-Shirts (featured in the motion picture).

Warming up for the second act, Chris Petlak premiered several new original songs in addition to Pretty Baby, which CNGM will be producing a music video for this summer!  Before a brief documentary on the development of CNGM’s next feature narrative project, Fortress of Forever, our guests got a never-seen-before sneak peek at approximately 15 minutes of the 2011 feature film, Two Days in February. The film’s first promotional spot will premiere in June 2010.

The response from our audience was overwhelming and extremely supportive of what CNGM Pictures is doing here in the Chicagoland area, promoting and producing truly independent motion picture production in the Midwest.  On behalf of the production company’s board of directors and staff, thank you all for your support and generous contributions to an organization determined to bring more production to the Chicago-area.

2010 is going to be a incredible year of new, exciting productions, screenings and industry events! CNGM will be making huge strides this year and we invite you to join us on the journey!

CNGM Pictures is proud to announce that they are teaming up with the Elgin-based theatre company, Nothing Special Productions on a short film entitled, Out-Secured.  The film is written by Nick Cardiff (who also penned CNGM’s upcoming 2010 feature, Fortress of Forever), produced by Erica Lynn Schmeck (Two Days in February) and directed by Michael P. Noens (Coasting).

While both organizations have been very supportive of one another, Out Secured will mark the first time that Nothing Special Productions and CNGM Pictures have collaborated on a specific project.  Production will be over the course of two days in December being shot entirely in the city of Chicago.

Other artists working on the film include Director of Photography Ben Nissen (Gnome Man’s Land), Still Photographer David B. Grelck (Coasting, White Out), Editor Tony Schiavone (Great Heights) and Production Designer Mikey Laird.
