This past weekend filmmaker Michael P. Noens and co star Jonathan C. Legat traveled to Flint, Michigan to see last year’s Sleep to Dream screen as part of the 2008 Flint Fim Festival. After closing the festival down on Saturday night, it was granted on Sunday the Best College Film award. In 2007 another CNGM movie, Fate Twisted Simply, was part of the Flint Film Festival line-up. This award makes the second for the Sleep to Dream concept. Now in feature length form, Sleep to Dream was originally a short film also featuring Angela Wascher that won Best Horror Short at the 2004 International Mircocinema Fest. Sean Colbert (Thom Augusta in Irving Renquist, Ghost Hunter) took his first shot at directing for the screen this past June. The short film, Gnome Man’s Land starring David B. Grelck, Tricia Noens and Kevin Wiczer is about a writer, laid up in a wheelchair after an accident, tries to occupy his time while fighting through writer’s block watching his neighbor’s house, and the garden gnomes on his lawn who appear to be plotting a plaster revolution. The title will be available to view off its official site this November. -
