First Tuesdays with The Midwest Independent Film Festival continue with the Sundance Grand Jury and Independent Spirit Award nominee, The Pool, screening on Tuesday, November 3rd at Landmark’s Century Centre Cinema. The evening begins at 6:00 PM and will be followed by a post-screening discussion with editor Barry Poltermann and composers Didier Leplae and Joe Wong.The film tells the story of a boy working in a hotel that becomes obsessed with a swimming pool in the opulent hills of Panjim, Goa in India. His life gets turned upside down when he attempts to meet the mysterious family that arrives at the house. Written and directed by Chris Smith (American Movie, The Yes Men).
The Midwest Independent Film Festival is the nation’s only film festival solely dedicated to the Midwest filmmaker, presenting audiences with regionally produced independent cinema every first Tuesday of the month at Landmark’s Century Centre Cinema, 2828 North Clark in Chicago. This year-round film festival sits proudly at the center of the independent film scene in Chicago and the Midwest and is dedicated to celebrating and strengthening that community.

Earlier this month, Boll AG closed a domestic deal with R-Squared Films for David B. Grelck’s White Out! The film was originally released on December 29, 2007 in the Chicagoland area, but this December you’ll be able to purchase it on DVD through a number of different outlets. That’s right, on December 1st, White Out will be CNGM’s first professionally distributed film! You’ll be able to find the film at Barnes & Noble, Target, Best Buy and of course, Amazon!
